This 11 days trip allows us to visiting the well-known destinations with breathtaking views   such

as Dong Van, MeoVac, Ma Pi Leng pass in Ha Giang province and amazing Ba Be Lake and Ban Gioc Waterfall in BacKan province. Ha Giang is Vietnam’s northernmost provinces, which is about 300km to the north of Hanoi. It is located at the highest latitude in Vietnam and surrounded by Cao Bang, TuyenQuang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai. It shares a border with China in the north. Many ethnic minorities, including the Dao, H’mong, Tay, and Nung, live in Ha Giang province. Ba Be Lake is the largest natural lake in Vietnam. It is located in Nam Mẫu commune, Bắc Kạn district, Bắc Kạn Province in the northeastern region of the country.

DETAIL ITINERARY:

Day 1/: Hanoi Arrival (Welcome Dinner)

Transfer via:International Airlines – Your own arrangement.

Upon your arrival in Noi Bai International Airport, you are welcome by Green Discovery Indochina’s guie and driver at the airportand then transfer to Hanoi Centre – Old Quarter. Check in your hotel and relax.

Welcome dinner with authentic Vietnamese’s cuisines will be served at a fine local restaurant

 Day 2/: Hanoi – Ha Giang(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Time:  8.00 am

 Today morning you will be picked up at your hotel’s lobby by our guide and driver, and then we will depart from Hanoi to Ha Giang. The drive to Ha Giang takes around 7 hours but is some of the most breathtaking in Vietnam. On the way we will stopover at some places to visit small villages and take photos. After the long drive, we will take a short walk around Ha Giang to visit a Tay and Nung village, set in a picturesque valley near town. Dinner will be served at a fine local restaurant.

Tonight we will overnight in Ha Giang.

Accommodation: Overnight at Truong Xuan Ecolodge in Ha Giang.

 Day 3/: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Lung Cu – Dong Van (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Site visited: Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Former H’mong King’s palace, Lung Cu, Dong Van.

In the morning we will drive to Quan Ba district, on the way we will stop in Quan Ba to visit the Bo Y minority village, this area is wonderful weather around year. We will have lunch in Yen Minh town and take rest for an hour then we will continue the trip to Sa Phin village to visit the Former H’Mong King’s Palace, and then keep driving up ahead we will visit the Flag Pole on the top of Lung Cu mountain, the border with China, the Most Northern Point of Vietnam, admire the breath taking view to villages and green fields surrounding.

 We will arrive Dong Van district in the late afternoon, take rest and walking around the ancient town of Dong Van, having dinner in the town. Tonight we will overnight in Dong Van town.

 Day 4/:  Dong Van - Ma Pi Leng Pass - MeoVac – Cao Bang (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Site visited: Ma Pi Leng Pass -  Nho Que River, MeoVac

After breakfast, we will start driving to Meo Vac known as the cradle of the Blue H’mong& Lo Lo, who are mainly living on the hill-sides and working on terraces. One of the highlight for the trip today is great drive to conquer Ma Pi Leng (The horse’s nose), the breathtaking pass with great scenery can be viewed to Nho Que river from the top of the pass.

After visit Meo Vac, we will leave to Cao Bang along the beautiful plateau with great rock formation. Take the impressive drive on the new road from Meo Vac to Bao Lac along Nho Que River. Arrive to Cao Bang in the late afternoon. Dinner will be served at a fine local restaurant.

 Day 5/: Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Ba Be National Park (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Site visited: Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Grotto, Pac Ngoi Village – Ba Be National Park

We will start our trip early today to Ban Gioc waterfall, the most tranquil waterfall in Vietnam via the scenic pass of Ma Phuc.

Arrive to Ban Gioc before it will be crowded by the other tourists. After having great time to visit and taking picture at Ban Gioc, transfer to Nguom Ngao Grotto. Take a short trek to Visit Nguom Ngao Grotto, the most outstanding grotto in the North-East of Vietnam. Then we drive forward Ba Be National Park.

The roads are very bumpy and zigzagging, but the spectacular mountainous landscapes with undulating terrace rice field and hill villages make our hardship all worthwhile. Upon arrival Ba Be National Park, check in your hotel and relax.

Dinner will be served at a fine local restaurant.

Day 6/: Cruising on Ba Be Lake and walking in the National Park (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Site visited: The Puong Grotto, Dau Nang Waterfall, Ba Be Lake.

The day starts with a walk to a small prier where you get on your motorboat and have a cruise on Ba Be Lake. The lush forest clinging to the surrounding mountains is your backdrop as you explore the lake. During the boat trip you will visit The Puong Grotto and the Dau Nang waterfall. The scenery surrounding the lake is simply breathtaking, with the huge, old forest domina-ting in this landscape. During the walk in the afternoon, you will be able to observe the local communities going about their daily life, which includes buffalos and their owners tending the fields. By late afternoon you will return to your local Tay ethnic minority house, where you enjoy dinner and stay overnight tonight.

Optional Kayaking/ Cycling Activity:

Kayaking is the best way to explore the breathtaking beauty of Ba Be Lake.  Paddle through the islets; discover hidden caves; visit  fishing villages.  You can get closer to the limestone karsts, and find some really secret corners of Ba Be lake and the Nang river.
Kayaks can go where big boats can't reach, and with their lack of engine noise are so much less intrusive, a real eco way of travel.

Or you can get on a motorcylce trip to explore the tranquil villages surroundings. The main roads around the national park are mostly in good condition and don't see much traffic. One day around the park should enable you to visit the Hua Ma cave, Thac Bac waterfall and some villages.

 Day 7/: Ba Be Lake – Lang Son (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Site visited: Ba Be Lake

After breakfast at our hotel, we will take a boat trip around this famous lake. The boat will take us for the peaceful cruise on the biggest lake in the North East of Vietnam with very green vegetation around. We will meet some local people on their traditional sampan go for fishing on the lake or taking a swim on this beautiful environment. After the boat trip, transfer back to Pac Ngoi village for the lunch.

Take rest for an hour before transfer to Lang Son. Arrive in Lang Son city, check in your hotel and relax.

Dinner will be served at a fine local restaurant.

Day 8/: Lang Son – Dong Dang (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Site visited: Dong Dang Downtown, Mother Temple, Tan Thanh Border Gate, Dong Kinh, Ky Lua Night Market.

Brekfast will be served at the hotel’s restaurant, then we will depart for Dong Dang, on the way, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the northeast mountains of Vietnam. In Dong Dang Downtown, we will visit Mother Temple and pray God for Happiness, Prosperity, Longevity.After that, we visit and do offering in Mau Dong Dang. The next destination is Tan Thanh border gate, which is the crowd economic zone in the north-east of Vietnam. In there, tourists freely go shopping.

11h30: Check in hotel, lunch at the restaurant and enjoy specialty dishes of Lang Son.

Afternoon: You are free to visit and shop at Dong Kinh Market, before having dinner and then take a walk in Lang Son downtown and KyLua night market. Then come back the hotel, take a rest and have dinner then freely hang out at your hotel in Lang Son city.

 Day 9/: Lang Son – Hanoi (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Site visited: Tam Thanh pagoda, Nhat Thanh – Nhi Thanh cave, Met Downtown

Morning:After having breakfastat the hotel’s restaurant, the driver& guide will take you to the next destinations, visit Tam Thanh Pagoda. This pagoda has the statue of Budda with 2,20m in height and is well carved into the cliffs. In front of Tam Thanh Pagoda, it is VongPhu Stone which attach with the legendary story of Ms To Thi, Mac ancient citadel and the whole view of Lang Son downtown.

Then we visit the two caves nearby Tam Thanh Cave namely Nhat Thanh Cave and Nhi Thanh Cave. In each cave, it remains the written documents of Ngo Sy Lien.

11h30: Have lunch at a local restaurant and check out.Return to Hanoi. On the way, stop at Met Downtown, buy local specialties as gifts to relatives and friends and then continue the journey to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi at around 17.30, finishing your adventurous journey to mountainous destinations of northern Vietnam with unfogettable experiences.

Check in hotel and have a rest. Have dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 10/: Hanoi City Tour – Street Food Tour (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

At 8:00 am, we start our one-day city tour. Pick up at your hotel’s lobby. We will drive to Ho Chi Minh Complex, where we will spend a couple of hour to visit: Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, his former stilt-house residence, the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh museum and One Pillar Pagoda. Keep going to see the Temple of Literature: Originally built as a temple to Confucius, this is the site of Vietnam’s first university dating back to 1070. The temple highlights the importance that Vietnamese society placed then and now on education. Lunch will be at a fine local restaurant in Hanoi.

In the afternoon, we will visit one of the most interesting museums in Vietnam; Museum of Ethnology, which is widely acknowledged as the best in the country and has an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 Ethnic minority peoples. Following by that we will wander around the city by car to see the real life of Hanoian as well as the difference parts the city.

Leave for Tran Quoc Pagoda, a Buddhist relic and national heritage lying on the West Lake. After that, we will take one-hour cyclo (paddle rickshaw)around the trading area in Hanoi Old Quarter. Hanoi Old Quarter has always been the symbol area that truthfully reveals the lifestyle of Hanoian. Established since the 11th century, the Old Quarter has 36 streets named after the commodity produced and sold at each street, such as sugar, bamboo, leather or silver, ect. Even though some of streets had their name changed, many of them still keep that characteristic nowadays.

In the evening, at around 6 PM,we start our amazingStreet Food Walking Tour by walking along the perimeter of the market, dozens of street hawkers sell a staggering variety of produce from live seafood to exotic fruits and spices. Your expert English-speaking local guide will give you an insight into the intricacies and traditions of Vietnamese food culture including details on ingredients and historical backgrounds of popular northern dishes. Walking through the maze of bustling streets that make up Hanoi’s Old Quarter, we tempt our tastebuds with the famous Hanoi dishes such as Bun Cha, Pho Cuon, Nem, NemLui at a local eatery. Watch in awe as the skilled chefs demonstrate for you how this tasty dish is put together. Continuing into the atmospheric heart of the Old Quarter, we wander past street stalls and quiet residential lanes where you can observe local life that has changed little since Hanoi was founded over 1000 years ago. Our next snack stop is at outdoor barbeque stalls with Vietnamese Rice Wine (which is called Happy Water). We sit down with the Hanoi locals and sample various meat, vegetable and bread specialties that are flame grilled over hot coals for extra flavour.  It’s then time for dessert as we venture down a small alley to join in the local tradition of feasting on fresh fruit served in a cup and smothered with crushed iced and condensed milk or Che– these are specialitiesthat can’t be missed!Your local guide will then take you to one of Hanoi’s best kept secrets, a hidden street food place to taste top ten street foods/drink in Hanoi is famous Egg Coffee. This hard-to-find café is one of the few left in the narrow street inside the old quarter of Hanoi. Or, if coffee is not your “cup of tea”, a cold beer awaits to end your tour in the most perfect way!

After the tour finishes, drop you off at your hotel. Free at your own leisure.
